Description: Bluegrass Addiction has been entertaining across the midwest since 1991. This high-energy band has a unique blend
of harmony, lots of stage personality, and has the ability to entertain diverse crowds. From a hard-driving, traditional
bluegrass song to a contemporary, strong ballad-- their performances will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Bluegrass Addiction has released six recording projects since 1999 with the current band configuration.
In 2006 the band released the title cut "Blue In My Bluegrass" on Prime Cuts of Bluegrass that was sent to
hundreds of radio stations and talent buyers across the world. Their longevity as a group shows their commitment
to each other, the fans, as well as promoters of bluegrass music. Be sure to come by their campsite and join
in on a jam session, say howdy, and sit a spell......as everyone is welcome.......the coffee is always on!!!
Bluegrass Addiction consists of four-well rounded musicians veteran to many hours of stage performances:
Lori King-- Lori joined the group in 1999 and plays bass fiddle, sings lead and harmony vocals, and is manager and
booking agent for the band. Lori started singing as a teen-ager in high school, but didn't pick up playing the bass until age 28. She had always loved to sing and accredits her gift of music to her mother for singing along to the old country songs by Tammy Wynette, Lorretta Lynn, and Dolly Parton. Her influences are country, but after hearing bluegrass artists like Allison Krauss and Rhonda Vincent there has been no turning back. She plays and sings with a conviction that draws you in to the music. Lori is a certified addictions counselor for a non-profit agency in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Joe King-- Joe has been playing guitar since the age of 5. He is a founding member of Bluegrass Addiction. Joe's
guitar playing influence's were that of Tony Rice and Vince Gill. His style is unique, his rhythm is solid, and his flat-picking is outstanding. Joe has recently written several bluegrass songs that have become fan favorites and requests. Joe contributes his love of music and guitar-picking to his grandfather, who encouraged him to play and would be very proud of his accomplishments. He also plays mandolin, banjo, and bass and even attempts to play a tune or two on the fiddle. Joe is the supervisor for the custodial department at the Davis County School District and enjoys his time off to play music.
Gary Fisher-- Gary has been performing and playing with Bluegrass Addiction since 1991. Also a founding member, he plays mandolin, sings lead and tenor harmony, and sometimes even sings bass. Gary also plays guitar, bass, and banjo, and has recently been testing his patience at playing fiddle. He has recently written a song from our latest release entitled
" Take Me Home". His "Flat Iron" gives the band that sound that separates us from other groups. Gary owns his own
construction company and enjoys, fishing, hunting, and playing music in his spare time.
Scott Amos-- Well, what can we say about Scott...Also a founding member of Bluegrass Addiction.. He plays banjo with the band, sings harmony vocals, and acts as MC for the group. His quick wit has become a very entertaining part of the band's performances. Scott also plays bass, guitar, mandolin, and can also squeak out a tune or so on the fiddle. He teaches banjo, guitar, and mandolin, and has recently started his own family band called the Bluegrass Blondies. Scott currently works in the human services field, and enjoys his time away to play bluegrass festivals.
