Description: Tim Seabolt was born and raised in Walton, WV, where he developed a deep
appreciation for bluegrass and gospel music. Tim's family was very involved
musically during his childhood, setting the stage for his love of traditional music.
He taught himself to play guitar at the age of 12, by listening to the adults
picking in the next room and trying to imitate them. He is also an accomplished
songwriter, having written more than 300 songs since his teens.
Tim met his wife, Lisa, while working in Nashville, NC. In 2002 circumstances led
them to upstate New York where Tim co-founded a bluegrass band called Skeeter Creek.
The band performed with numerous country artists including Chris Cagle, Mark Wills,
and Ray Scott. They had a good following and won numerous awards in the Northeast
including winning the 2004 Regionals for the Colgate Country Shoot-out (playing
bluegrass). Now after 5 years as the front man for Skeeter Creek, Tim is living in
Lincolnton, NC and is performing with his new band, Tim Seabolt & Carolina Storm.
Tim recently completed his 1st solo project, "Grandpa's Gibson", at Hayes
Productions in Batavia, Ohio. The CD, a collection of his original music, was
released on September 9! Guest artists include: Jim Van Cleve (Mountain Heart), Rick
Hayes (Gibson Brothers), Ron Stewart (formerly with J.D. Crowe, now with Dan
Tyminski), Josh Swift (Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver), Eric Gibson, Leigh Gibson, and
Emily Smith. |
